TAI HO WOON, Media and Communication Consultant

A media professional for most of his career, Tai Ho is best known in Asia for leading the team which started the Asia-wide news channel, Channel NewsAsia. For close to 30 years, he has been a media and PR strategist, helping key ministries in Singapore, governments in the region, as well as MNCs in their reputation needs and PR work. In August 2023, he was a member of Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s PR team, working on the campaign that helped him secure a 70.4% landslide victory, to be the 9th President of Singapore. On 13th July 2024, Tai Ho was inducted into the Singapore Media Industry Hall of Fame for making last contributions to the media industry over the years.

Tai Ho is also a media trainer, over the years he has personally developed more than 30 modules from the varied experiences of his long media career. He has media trained corporate leaders, politicians and developed media strategies for Singapore companies and MNCs. He is valued for his skill in helping companies get out of crises and is the brain behind many public spokespersons.

Today, Tai Ho is a bestselling author. On 23rd April 2024, Tai Ho became the inaugural winner of the Dr Alan HJ Chan ‘Spirit of Singapore Book Prize’ for Soul of Ink, Lim Tze Peng at 100. He won $30,000, the richest book prize in Singapore. George Yeo Musings Series One was Number 1 on the Non-Fiction Bestseller list for 12 weeks and stayed on the bestseller list for seven months. George Yeo Musings Series Two was also Number 1 on the Non-Fiction Bestseller list. Musings Series Three was launched on 31st August 2023.

Tai Ho is also an advocate of good stories told through the visual medium. A Changing Beat and Depth of Field were two of his long-form award-winning documentaries for MediaCorp. He produces video profiles for famous personalities and conceptualises and produces corporate videos, help clients with their video needs on social media.

Dr. Kevin Tan, Digital and PR Consultant

Chief Executive Officer of Socium, a digital strategic communications consultancy, and an adjunct faculty at the National University of Singapore, Kevin is a pracademic bridging the challenges in communications practice, and the conceptual and theoretical developments in the academia.

Having more than a decade of experience in communications, Kevin started his communications career in the public service dealing with media relations and crisis communications. Besides being well-published as a communications scholar, his most transferable skills from more than 15 years in public service are crisis and organisational management and communications. In managing the whole-of-government crisis communications during the 2013 Singapore Haze Crisis and as the media planner for the 2014 Singapore Airshow, Kevin built an extensive network of international media professionals whom he engages regularly till date.

As a business strategist, Kevin enjoys working with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to review processes and provide overviews of business landscapes to help them better optimise business opportunities and growth. Apart from his fractional press secretarial/ advisory roles to the principals of client companies, Kevin regularly conducts crisis communication and media training for government agencies and corporates.
