Adaptability and Dynamic Harmony are the Key to Resilience in 2023

Noel Allnutt, Managing Director and co-founder of Sekuro, extends a holiday message and reflection on the year that was, key learnings, and what we will see as we move into 2023.

As we reach the end of the year and begin the festive season, I’d like to pause and reflect on what this year has taught us.

Firstly, I would like to thank our customers, our partners, and our Sekurian team for your continued support throughout 2022. We would not be where we are today without you. What a year it has been!

We really hope that our customers are getting to the end of 2022 in a better situation than they were last year. Most importantly, we hope our customers are really allowing themselves time to reflect and give themselves a pat on the back because nobody’s had it easy this year.

If I rewind back to the end of 2021, my message to people was, “Okay, let’s get ready for 2022. Life’s going to get back to normal. No more lockdowns.” While some of that has come true, life has not returned to the normal we once knew. The reality is that the workload and the demand of the cyber security industry has been as unprecedented as the shocks and surprises of the previous year.

At Sekuro, we really had to bond together with an exasperating workload to work in collaboration with our clients and our vendors to deliver value and quality work in the effort to secure Australia against increasing cyber threats. We witnessed how change is happening quicker and life is more unpredictable than ever before. Therefore, one of the biggest learnings for 2022 was that we have to be able to adapt in order to achieve success.

This year showed us that sometimes, survival is the win. It’s not always about how you thrive. The thought of businesses taking a linear approach became a thing of the past. We saw that businesses really had to raise their adaptability and leave their egos to the side because that is way to resilience in a rapidly evolving world. It became vital to avoid being so entrenched in plans that we couldn’t take pause and alter the track as needed.

As we move forward, the way that people choose partners, and the way partners choose their customers, has to include an accepted level of flexibility and adaptability.

What excites me about 2023 is really being focused on building the dynamic harmony between growth in the digital economy and high-value, complex work. We’ll be focusing on keeping our eyes way beyond the horizons to ensure that we’re resilient within ourselves and our customer base is resilient to adapt to change. Sekuro will be ready to adapt to the opportunities that 2023 brings. Because if there’s one thing that we know, 2023 will be completely different to 2022.

So therefore, having that ability to adapt, having that foresight to see what’s potentially coming down the path and communicate and collaborate effectively, that’s really going to be a big competitive advantage for our customers. Sekuro stands by our commitment to clients for life, our commitment to innovation, and our commitment for full transparency. Combined with those values, our services should really help propel our customers to where they want to go.

For me, success looks like delivering strong outcomes for our customers and in turn, our customers will be able to deliver the same for their client base.

Sekuro's eventful 2022!

I want to say a thank you to our team and admire the flexibility and agility to respond to new challenges thrown their way by our client base. As for our clients, thank you for trusting us with your most recent problems and tomorrow’s challenges. It’s been great to really understand where organisations are looking to grow in the next three to five years – and to be part of their strategy to get there has been an honour. It’s a testament to how we can embed ourselves into our customers’ strategies, so they can fearlessly innovate and continue to flourish in challenging times for the digital economy.

We’re so grateful as an organisation to be working with such a talented, caring, authentic customer base, our own staff and our partners. I’m just delighted for the progress that we’ve made. Our commitment for the new year is that we’ll continue to stick to our values, drive a culture of new ideas and do great things as a collective while continuing to adapt to whatever comes our way.

At the end of the day, we are all in this together. It doesn’t matter which part of the security ecosystem, we’re all one – clients, partners, and ourselves. I look forward to another year of working in harmony in order to keep growing together.

Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and safe New Year!
