Sekuro Announces New Partnership With Dragos to Strengthen OT Capabilities

Rising attacks against Australian critical infrastructure drive demand for OT security.

Sydney, Australia – 30th April 2024: Sekuro has today announced its new partnership with Dragos, the global leader in cyber security for operational technology (OT) environments. This alliance comes as Sekuro looks to strengthen its OT service capabilities by curating its offerings in partnership with the world’s best vendors.

Sekuro’s partnership with Dragos will enable new and existing customers to get the most out of the Dragos Platform by leveraging Sekuro’s expertise and support. Sekuro is now a value-added reseller, utilising Dragos technology to provide comprehensive asset visibility, vulnerability management, and the industry’s most effective threat detection in OT environments. In addition, as a managed service provider for Dragos, Sekuro can now oversee a converged dashboard for OT and IT infrastructure, consolidating  all alerts into one place.

The escalating dependence on OT systems within critical infrastructure has left the backbone of society vulnerable. In fact in 2023, ransomware attacks against industrial organisations increased by 50 per cent, according to research from Dragos.

“The potential impact of attacks on OT can be downright terrifying yet, anecdotally, we’ve observed low OT security maturity in Australia. As IT and OT converge, our customers are coming to us for guidance on how to secure critical infrastructure. And while there are unique challenges and requirements for OT and critical infrastructure environments, our capabilities are now strengthened by Dragos, and will enhance operational continuity and safety.”

– Noel Allnutt, CEO of Sekuro

Unlike attacks on IT infrastructure, attacks against OT systems can impact our physical environment through service disruptions, economic damage, threats to public safety, and even putting lives at risk. The Colonial Pipeline attack in 2021 marked a re-focus on the impact critical infrastructure attacks could have on the public. More recently, DP Worldwide, Australia’s largest port operator, was forced to shut down its operations for days due to a cyberattack.

The partnership between Dragos and Sekuro is well aligned to our mission to Safeguard Civilisation. Together, Sekuro and Dragos bring world class technology and experience in the OT domain alongside Sekuro’s deep expertise in the Enterprise IT landscape for a holistic approach to organisational cyber security. We share Sekuro’s dedication to reducing cyber risk and building business resiliency for industrial organisations.

– Hayley Turner, Area Vice President, APAC of Dragos

Sekuro currently provides a range of services tailored to address  the unique challenges encountered by those  maintaining OT and critical infrastructure, which will now be bolstered by the Dragos partnership. Sekuro’s Offensive Security team offers vulnerability assessments on  an organisation’s existing  infrastructure, whilst its Governance, Risk, and Compliance team helps organisations assess risk and monitor compliance with pivotal regulations, such as  the 2018 SOCI Act. In addition, Sekuro’s Black Team can provide physical penetration testing of OT assets.

“As an end-to-end cyber security and digital transformation consultancy, our holistic approach has enabled us to build the leading business platform for OT convergence. Sekuro is partnering with Dragos because of its unrivalled reputation as the leading OT security technology provider with unparalleled expertise and experience on the frontline of OT security incidents. The Dragos Platform provides superior visibility and insights, and Dragos is the only vendor providing services to upskill customers and partners.”
